"Missed Birthdays" Suicide Prevention

The Campaign appearing on 'This Morning' by C A L M "is an installation by Campaign Against Living Miserably, raising awareness of the devastating reality of youth suicide in the UK.

The installation takes the 6,929 young people we’ve lost in the last decade/2012-2022* and uses balloons - a traditional symbol of celebration and hope - to represent that number and emphasise the tragic loss of young life." as described on This Morning's Blog which can be accessed here .

It details how each balloon in the installation signifies a birthday that has been missed due to the suicide of a young person. it is utterly heartbreaking, not only for all those families who lost a loved one, but all those young people who felt they had no choice. We must, as a society be more aware of what help is actually out there. C A L M campaign has a toolkit to help carers to support young people who may need it. Please do have a look here and share with anyone who may need it, it is free.

We do have some support available for children, young people and their families through part funded counselling, if it is suitable, it isn't always. Well done to C A L M for this awareness campaign!!!
